New South Beach Cabaret Promises a Classy Night Out in Miami's Party Scene

Ever feel as if something is missing as you drive past the neon lights on South Beach? We're not talking about soul searching. We're talking about the nightlife.

There are plenty of bars and clubs in Miami, but one thing our city lacks is classy cabarets. But soon, it shall lack no more. Opening tomorrow night on the sweet streets of SoBe is The Cabaret South Beach.

Renowned nightlife promoter, businessman, and co-owner of the new venue Edison Farrow says The Cabaret will "add a missing element to South Beach nightlife." He said he's always dreamed of opening a live performance venue that reminds him of his days growing up in New York, where he would frequent piano bars and cabarets.

The Cabaret South Beach Grand Opening Next Week

South Beach has plenty of nightclubs pumping house beats from world-renowned DJs, but when it comes to live music venues, we'd like to see some more variety - and thankfully, our wish is about to be granted. Starting next Thursday, December 12, The Cabaret South Beachwill host its three-day grand opening from 9 PM to 2 AM. The French-inspired club with an underground vibe will host an array of musical acts, and get this: the performers will also serve as highly skilled bartenders. So that means after they're done belting out a melody on the mic or wrapping up a tune on the white baby grand piano, they’ll be mixing up cocktails like the tequila-infused Chita Margarita for your drinking pleasure. Then, following the grand opening, the club will be open seven days a week with live music each night (starting at 10 PM). We even hear a happy hour with piano player is in the works - sounds like it's hitting all the right notes.

The Cabaret South Beach

If you’ve ever seen the clip of Judy Garland singing “The Man That Got Away” in her 1954 film “A Star is Born,” then you know exactly what the ambiance at The Cabaret South Beach is like.

For over a decade Edison Farrow was the preeminent party maven for the gay set on South Beach with his Traveling Martini Tuesday party which met each week at Miami Beach’s most urbane loctaions, from chic hotels such as the Setai, to the Fontainebleau’s LIV nightclub. But, even with all that, Farrow felt something was missing from the party scene. As he describes it “Growing up in New York, I loved piano bars and live music venues from a very young age. Whenever I travel back home from Miami I wonder why we didn’t have such places in South Florida…that’s how the idea of The Cabaret South Beach was born.”

Nightlife's a Cabaret Ol' Chum

Revealing itself this week like an old school burlesque dancer sticking out her gartered leg, The Cabaret South Beach, 233 12th St., is a brand new performance venue with shows seven days a week. And here's the rub - the performers are also the servers and bartenders. Owned by veteran nightlife promoter Edison Farrow and his biz partner Ed de Caso, The Cabaret South Beach is a "modern reinterpretation of famous cabarets such as the Tropicana in Havana and the Moulin Rouge in Paris," say a rep. “Antique gold framed paintings, crystal chandeliers, and a white baby grand piano will set the stage for our staff of server-performers and coupled with surprise acts from guest performers, The Cabaret is sure to become a can’t-miss evening out for cocktails, conversation and great music,” said Farrow. Doors open nightly at 9 p.m. followed soon by Happy Hour piano player who will perform daily from 5 to 9 p.m.

Un teatro de variedades en pleno South Beach

The Cabaret combina música y espectáculos al estilo Tropicana o Moulin Rouge
